The product starts with a familiar roll of duct tape and a smart device. Duct Tape is a ubiquitous product known for fixing just about everything, and smart devices are more accessible than ever. This is how we solved the problem of accessibility.
The user can customize the size of the tape. The user can assign a data profile to the entire length of tape, or they can cut it down to something as small as 2cm by 2cm. This means a single roll of 30 yard duct tape could potentially hold up to 2700 independent data profiles on the 2cmx2cm squares.
Continuously Unique Pattern
Printed on the tape is a continuously changing, unique code. This means that every inch of tape is unique, and this acts as an optical key that can be read by a smartphone. The phone scans over the piece of tape, reads the code, and accesses a data profile associated with the tape. This data file appears as augmented reality over the tape. The user can click on the augmented reality to access text, audio, and video files.
Duct tape is tried and tested, durable, and sticks to basically anything. Users trust the brand.
Duct tape is not a perfect solution to anything. But with a little creativity, in a pinch, it’s a great solution to just about everything. "
